Long Island Science Center is in Rocky Point

By Debra Ferrie January 10, 2017
Science Saturdays started this month!

Rocky Point and local surrounding residents are lucky to have this great facility in our area now! When it's cold out and you need somewhere fun to go on a weekend, check out the Science Center for hands-on fun. The same exhibits from Riverhead are there with more coming and it's a spacious room even with a couch in a  parent waiting area
( though when I was there, most parents were playing with the exhibits as much as the kids!)

They're open Saturdays from 11-4. No official sign is up yet so just look for the brick building across from the Little League fields that houses the gymnastics place. The Science Center is the center front door. It's only $7 per person to enter and you can plan to spend at least an hour there if not more! There are tables which each have an activity for the kids to do too, based on the weekly theme.
The center has a nice gift shop as well, filled with unique science based toys and activities.

You can find the upcoming Saturday themes on our calendar here
